On Thursday the 27th of August Maria Besteman, Programme manager at Basic Water Needs was part of the expert panel on ‘A sustainable approach to scale-up safe water’.
The session focused on sketching out a change agenda and what is needed to go to scale with Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS). It was the first time a session at the Stockholm World Water Week was dedicated to HWTS. Together with the World Health Organisation, Aqua for All, IRC, EAWAG, Antenna and many more organisations and companies, the discussion was started on what is needed to scale up access to HWTS in a sustainable way.
We believe this opens a momentum for the HWTS market approach and hope that next year we will attend many more sessions on HWTS at SIWI.
