Household Water Filters
Basic Water Needs (BWN) is widely recognized for its impact in developing, producing and distributing water purification and conservation products; creating access to safe drinking water for everyone.
Over the last 15 years, BWN has supplied our innovative Dutch-designed Tulip water filters to more than 3,000,000 people worldwide, offering safe and durable drinking water products that are simple to use and last for thousands of liters.
Our contribution to a sustainable environment
Notably, our water filters contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions, aligning with environmental sustainability goals. These eco-friendly solutions are actively integrated into programs that incentivize carbon credits, supporting global efforts to combat climate change.
Through the Solarimpulse Foundation it has been calculated that 1 water filter avoids the emission of about 0,4 tCO2 – 1,7 tCO2 per filter per year, while emissions caused by manufacturing and transport of the filters is negligible. Emissions are avoided as no non-renewable biomass is needed to boil water, the mainstream alternative. A conservative estimate therefore is that through the usage of the water filters alone 1,200,000 + tons of CO2 have been diverted.
This is one of the reasons why the Tulip Table Top has been awarded the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label for two consecutive periods.
