Basic Water Needs (BWN) is widely recognized for its impact in developing, producing and distributing water purification and conservation products; creating access to safe drinking water for everyone. Over the last 15 years, BWN has supplied our innovative Dutch-designed Tulip water filters to more than 3,000,000 people worldwide, offering safe and durable drinking water products that are simple to use and last for thousands of liters. 

BWN is also highly regarded in the design and innovation community for our solutions to HWTS (household water and safe storage). Our products are affordable, streamlined in design, and widely available. BWN works through its own network in many parts of the world making sure that all income groups, including the Bottom and Base of the Pyramid (BoP), have access to safe drinking water products. BWN works together with numerous NGOs, Ministries of Health and many other public and private partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America in the fields of HWTS and WASH. BWN is also involved with most Self Supply programs in Eastern and Southern Africa. 

With its headquarters based in the Netherlands, its production site in Asia, and agents all over the world, BWN meets the needs of its users and stakeholders with a global mindset, in turn making safe drinking water simple, affordable and available. Tulip | Waterfilters

Our Tulip technologies are developed, produced and distributed according to BWN’s core values: simple, affordable and available.

TULIP TABLE TOP

The Tulip Table Top is a two bucket water filter and water storage facility in one. The top bucket is filled with raw water, which is filtered through the Tulip candle filter into the lower bucket. The water in the lower bucket is safe for immediate consumption. The water is also safe for storage in the lower bucket for longer periods. The Tulip Table Top lasts up to 7000 liters. After which the candle can be easily replaced.

TULIP SPARE PARTS

Throughout its network BWN makes sure there are sufficient spare parts available. Whether it concerns spare candles or fast flow hoses, BWN believes that no system is durable without available spare parts. Parts are available via our local agents or distributors, please contact us for more information.

The Tulip Technologies have been extensively tested both internally by our R&D department as well as externally by several renowned agencies. Amongst those are the Waterlaboratorium Noord, Environmental Monitoring Service and the Malawian Ministry of Water.
