27th of November 2014. The leading Dutch newspaper, Telegraaf, published an article on Basic Water Needs ‘World filled with water filters’. Telling the story of how Basic Water Needs was founded and developed itself into a company which has already provided 2 million people with safe drinking water.

‘Tulip water filters’ has a shot at the Tulip awards of the Accenture Innovation Awards. To us this seems like an appropriate award for our appropriate technology. Next to the blue and green Tulip award BWN is also running for the People’s Choice Award.
In May 2014 the Hardcore Help Foundation went to Kenya and handed out Tulip Siphon water filters. During the water filter distribution Carlo Oppermann from Ambitious Films shot a short movie. This is the first episode of the new documentary “We don’t need a reason to help people”.
