[two_third_last]In 2013 the typhoon Haiyan caused massive destruction and affected almost 9.5 million people on the Philippines. Immediately there was an urgent need for basic needs like clean drinking water. That is why Basic Water Needs, together with Connect International, Safe Water International and several Rotary Clubs started an emergency aid action to ship filter to the victims.
The first shipment of Tulip Siphon water filters have been handed out amongst the victims of the typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban, Leyte, the Philippines. These will help in preventing diseases like cholera and diarrhoea, giving people the health and strength to rebuild their lives.

The second shipment is being planned, ensuring that even more people will have access to safe drinking water.
